Homemade Pancakes

Leah's Family Recipe
It's breakfast time! Treat yourself to this light and airy pancake recipe. This is our favourite nostalgic recipe straight from Saturday morning childhood.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 15-18 minutes
Makes: 8 servings


1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
3 tbsp granulated sugar
¾ tsp salt
1 egg, lightly beaten (use egg whites or whole egg)
¾ cup milk (or milk substitute)
3 tbsp light olive oil

Options Add-Ons:
berries, banana, chocolate chips


(1) Mix dry ingredients together.

(2) Mix liquid ingredients together.

(3) Add the liquid to the dry ingredients – fold together but leave small lumps in the batter to create light and fluffy pancakes.

(4) Lightly oil cooking pan.
(5) Pour about ¼ cup batter to the pan.

(6) Flip the pancake when small bubbles are formed on top.

(7) Cook until golden brown.
