Kara Yoo is a design and manufacturing studio located in Vancouver, Canada. We design and make almost everything in-house. We have a strong focus on simple, yet striking designs, with nuanced proportions and silhouettes. Each piece is designed and constructed with our central creed - that it is made to wear.
With a background in commerce and metalsmithing, Kara takes a pragmatic approach to design, working with materials in their physical form to create designs with a keen sense of modularity. Ease and playfulness are the key foundations of each collection.
We are Asian and woman-owned; we work with and support other Asian, POC and women-owned businesses.
We use responsibly sourced and sustainable materials. We have an extensive sourcing program, sourcing all materials in-house from local and global partners.
All metals are nickel-free, hypoallergenic and are selected to meet the needs of the individual designs to maintain quality over the life of the item.
